History of The Blair Witch:
The town of Burkittsville, MD once was a town called Blair.
The story begins in 1729 a woman named Elly Kedward was accused of witchcraft and was banished into the Black Hills Forest where the townspeople left her- hanging from a tree- to die. Her fate was never determined, although it was assumed she died from exposure. In 1786 Elly’s spirit returned and manifested itself.
In 1886, a young woman named Robin Weaver had gotten lost in the Black Hills Forest when she met an old woman whose feet reportedly “did not touch the ground”. She was initially frightened, however she came to trust the woman who acted so generously to her. The woman led Robin Weaver through the woods and into an old, abandoned house down into the basement. The old woman said she would depart, and left promising to return. Robin Weaver waited for hours in the basement, afternoon fading into evening, feeling more scared by the minute. A sense of evil was growing unto her. She squeezed through a window, and out of the woods, and eventually safely back to Burkittsville. A search party was organized before her before she had returned home. After they realized that the search party had not returned back to the town, another search party was assembled, looking for them. They found the search party near Coffin Creek, all brutally murdered and their bodies tied together by the legs and arms, arranged in the shape of a star. Their organs and reproductive systems were in the center of the star. Their bodies had markings on them, indicative of witchcraft. The photo shown above-the red, starlike marking- is the marking of The Blair Witch. The search party ran back to gather weapons, but when they returned, the bodies had been removed but evidence of the murders were still there. Robin had felt an evil presence in the area.
In 1940, The Witch abducted eight children from Burkittsville with promises of candy. She brought the kids down in pairs into the basement. She had one kid stand in the corner while she killed the other kid by disemboweling them and carving symbols into their skin with a knife. She would then repeat the process with the other child. It has also been reported that a pale woman’s arms reached up and pulled a young child into the Tappy East Creek. The body was never found, but for thirteen days after the drowning, the creek was clogged with bundles sticks and a oily residue.
Much later, a hermit was reported of killing 7 children, all ritualistic killings. The bodies were found in the basement. The hermit said he did it “because the old woman told him to”.
Is the Blair Witch real? We think so. Come along on the tour to see for yourself. Bring your cameras. You'll never know what you'll find.
